Huawei may sell Honor smartphone brand [Video]

Huawei is set to sell much of its Honor smartphone brand, according to Reuters sources.

Battered by U.S. sanctions, the Chinese firm is reportedly rethinking its priorities.

It wants to focus on its high-end phones, and ditch the budget-focused Honor offering.

The assets to be sold have yet to be decided, but could include the brand, research and development facilities and other units.

That could raise up to 3.7 billion dollars.

The front-runner for the acquisition is seen as Digital China Group.

It’s the main distributor for Honor phones.

But other contenders include electronics maker TCL and rival smartphone brand Xiaomi.

There was no immediate comment on the reports from Huawei or Digital China.

The Honor brand accounts for about a quarter of Huawei’s phone shipments.

But analysts say profit margins at the budget end of the market are razor thin.

Luxury Sneaker Brand P448 Is Under New Ownership

P448 has a new owner.

In a statement early this month, StreetTrend LLC announced that it purchased the Italy-based luxury sneaker brand from NoThanks SpA. As part of the acquisition, the consolidated entity will be called P448 SpA and will become part of StreetTrend’s portfolio of footwear and fashion brands.

Coty Expands Kylie Skin Brand to Europe and Australia

Coty Inc.  (COTY) – Get Report said on Thursday that it was expanding its division for Kylie Jenner’s skincare products, Kylie Skin, to France, Germany, the U.K. and Australia.

The direct-to-consumer Kylieskin.com websites will ensure faster delivery of products. They’ll also enable customers to shop using their local languages and currencies, avoiding additional customs fees and duties, the New York beauty-products company said in a statement.
