The 12th International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific, ISAP2020, will be held online by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) from 9 to 13 November and on 30 November 2020.
This year’s theme is “Just Transitions Toward Sustainable Societies in Asia and the Pacific: Building forward better for our future beyond COVID-19”. With the need for a swift response and recovery from COVID-19, as well as the chance to think about how we can redesign our societies and transform them to be more sustainable, resilient, just, and inclusive, ISAP2020 will showcase IGES’ position on current and future risks, and make a call for stronger partnerships with relevant stakeholders. The forum includes participation from front-line experts and diverse stakeholders from international organisations, governments, business and NGOs.
LONDON, Oct. 7 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Today marks the launch of the Technology Executive Roundtable US (TERUS), a forum established to support technology and life science senior executives whose growth strategy involves expansion into the United States.
TERUS will host roundtable forums featuring guests sharing experiences regarding US expansion. The forum will be open only to technology and life sciences executives nominated by one of the founding partner organisations. Programming begins with virtual sessions in October.
TERUS was created through the joint efforts of several organisations. “When I was a kid, it was an old white man in a lab coat. Even if you’re lucky to have support, you can’t escape the culture, and that culture is telling you scientists are white men.”
It’s a sexist assumption of who can be an ecologist, chemist, botanist or astronomer, Jorgenson said. What are often called “hard sciences” tend to be maledominated fields. Graduate classes are filled mostly with men, where women are often discouraged from participating, she said.
The Boao Forum for Asia will host a technology conference in Macau, aiming to “promote international exchange and cooperation” and “support the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, the organization indicated.
The “International Science, Technology and Innovation Forum (ISTIF)” will take place between the November 9 and 11, at the Service Platform Complex for Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries and at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, according to the program sent to the Lusa agency.
It is one of three major thematic conferences organized by the Boao Forum for Asia, whose annual conference was not held this year due to Covid-19 pandemic.
