Walmart to Redesign Stores to Better Integrate With App

Walmart  (WMT) – Get Report on Wednesday unveiled a new store redesign that works with its mobile app to help customers make contactless transactions.

“As part of the overall signage, the exterior and interior of the stores will reflect the Walmart app icon,” the Bentonville, Ark., company’s executive vice president and chief customer officer, Janey Whiteside, said in a blog post.

“As customers enter the store, they will see colorful iconography and a store directory that encourages them to download and use the Walmart app while they shop.

“Throughout the store, bold, dimensional typeface … directs customers to the exact section they are looking for, while aisles are marked with letter and number combinations to guide customers from phone to product.”

The company said it tested the design in select stores — it didn’t say which — and was pleased with the customer feedback.

Blockstack PBC to Integrate Chainlink’s Industry Leading Oracle Technology into Blockstack’s Smart Contract Language

Industry leaders unite to expand technology, marketing, and community development

Blockstack PBC and Chainlink are joining forces to integrate the Blockstack and Algorand-supported Clarity smart contract language with Chainlink’s industry-leading oracle technology. By leveraging Chainlink as the preferred oracle solution, Blockstack developers will soon be able to build sophisticated Clarity smart contracts that are enhanced with secure, validated data spanning millions of data providers, web APIs, and other off-chain resources from Chainlink.

Clarity was designed from the ground-up to be more secure, predictable, and reliable than other languages. When combined with Chainlink’s technology, Clarity will unlock a host of new use cases and user experiences. The initial integration will revolve around integrating Chainlink’s widely used Price Feeds, but will evolve into a generalized oracle solution for the platform. Both teams aim to make Chainlink’s capabilities available to Blockstack users and developers in the near future, in addition to the entirety

VMware, Nvidia integrate on architecture, technology as they aim to accelerate AI adoption

VMware and Nvidia are integrating the latter’s artificial intelligence applications for unified management of apps, security and data processing unit accelerators.

The partnership secures Nvidia’s role in hybrid clouds as VMware outlined an architecture that incorporates data processing units (DPUs) in the data center, cloud and edge. Specifically, AI software on Nvidia’s NGC hub will be integrated into VMware vSphere, Cloud Foundation and Tanzu.

Both companies said the bet was that the integration would be able to speed up AI adoption in enterprises.

Krish Prasad, general manager of VMware’s cloud platform business, said “AI workloads no longer need any kind of specialized set up based on bare metal or specialized tools to run it.”

VMware and Nvidia also said they will partner on Project Monterey to create an architecture based on SmartNIC technology and include Nvidia’s programmable BlueField-2 DPU to support machine learning and data-focused apps.
