Georgia Tech puts on flashy show vs. Louisville

Enough of the turnovers, the Jackets decided. Using a bye week to concentrate on ball security, they seemed to flush from their system the 10 turnovers from their previous two games. It was a most effective purge, as they gave Louisville exactly no help this night.

No wet ball eluded their grasp, while the Cardinals committed three fumbles that were all costly. Credit Tech’s comfort with the elements, players and head coach agreed, to the waste of a perfectly good, expansive and expensive indoor practice facility. On rainy practice days, the Jackets are known to step outside and slop around just to get comfortable with the elements.

Louisville vs. Georgia Tech: Live stream, watch online, TV channel, kickoff time, football game preview

A pair of second-year coaches attempting to hit the .500 mark on the season will meet Friday night with Louisville visiting Georgia Tech in a battle of teams that have started 1-2 so far in 2020.

With three key pieces of a prolific offense back — quarterback Malik Cunningham, running back Javian Hawkins and wide receiver Tutu Atwell — the conversation going into 2020 included Louisville as a conference-championship contender. No one was suggesting that the gap with Clemson had been closed in just one season, but in this 10-game, one-division ACC format in place for 2020, it was definitely considered a possibility that the Cardinals could finish in one of the

Sims powers Georgia Tech past fumble-prone Louisville, 46-27

Gibbs said the wet practices are common.

“We practice in the rain all the time,” Gibbs said. “When it rains we just keep practicing outside to get used to it.”

Georgia Tech (2-2, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) snapped a two-game losing streak. Sims, a freshman, passed for 249 yards with two touchdowns, including a 34-yard scoring pass to Malachi Carter to extend the lead with less than three minutes remaining. Dontae Smith added a 12-yard scoring run in the final minute.

Louisville (1-3, 0-3) suffered its third straight loss despite a strong effort by quarterback Malik Cunningham, who passed for 229 yards with two touchdowns and ran for two scores.

Javian Hawkins ran for 155 yards for the Cardinals but his fumble in the fourth quarter was costly. Jordan Domineck’s recovery near midfield set up Sims’ scoring pass to Gibbs, who vaulted defensive back Isaiah Hayes at the goal line

Louisville police release body camera videos showing night Breonna Taylor was killed: “My girlfriend’s dead”

Louisville police have released a batch of evidence from an investigation of the raid that killed Breonna Taylor in March. It raises new questions over why police targeted her home in an effort to prosecute her ex-boyfriend.

A police lieutenant who came to the scene after the shooting told investigators, “something really bad happened.”

The material includes more than 250 videos and more than 4,000 pages of documents. It was released Wednesday as the outcry for justice for Taylor continues.

Former Detective Brett Hankison pleaded not guilty to three counts of wanton endangerment for endangering the lives of three people in the neighboring apartment, the only charges that were filed by the grand jury reviewing Taylor’s death. Neither Hankison nor the two other officers involved in the fatal police shooting were charged directly with Taylor’s death.

Protests Erupt in Louisville After Breonna Taylor Decision

Protesters took to the streets in Louisville, Ky., after the state’s attorney general announced that only one of three officers involved in the killing of Breonna Taylor would be charged.

“On or about March 13, 2020, in Jefferson County, Ky., the above-named defendant, Brett Hankison, committed the offense of wanton endangerment in the first degree. That concludes the business of the grand jury sitting for Jefferson County in September 2020. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, you may be excused.” “That’s it?” “Is that the only charge?” “The cannot do their jobs! This is why we are angry! This is why we are upset!” “Say her name!” “Breonna Taylor!” “What do we want?” “Justice!” “If we don’t get it.” “Shut it down!” “If we don‘t get it!” “Burn it
