Should you replace your developer portal with a hybrid integration platform?

The concept of a developer portal is to provide the necessary technical information to configure and manage the communication between an API and both internal and external systems. Originally, it was not thought of as a business-generating tool for companies that adopt them. Rather, it was an interface between APIs, SDKs and other digital tools and their administrators.

However, over time, many developer portal elements have caused friction for partners and resulted in higher costs for the company providing the data through APIs.

An alternative option to replace a developer portal is a Hybrid Integration Platform (HIP), a simple system connection solution that has the potential to generate more business through pairing ecosystems directly, efficiently and at a lower cost.

Fixing potential developer portal problems

The leading cause of friction within a developer portal is the amount of time it takes to create and support it. Quite often, an integration

Cannabis use appears to encourage, not replace, non-medical opioid use — ScienceDaily

Contrary to some claims, people in the U.S may not be substituting cannabis for opioids, according to new research at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. The study examined the direction and strength of association between cannabis and opioid use over 90 consecutive days among adults who used non-medical opioids. The findings showed that opioid use was at least as prevalent on days when cannabis was used as on days when it was not, and that this was irrespective whether participants were experiencing pain or not. The study, published in the scientific journal Addiction, is among the first to test opioid substitution directly.

The study, which compared the probability of non-medical opioid use on days when cannabis was used with days when cannabis was not used, included 13,271 days of observation among 211 participants from the greater New York area. The participants were predominantly male, urban, unemployed, unmarried,

Norway will use the Apple-Google API to replace its failed COVID-19 app

After the privacy issues surrounding its first attempt at a contact tracing app, Norway is planning to develop a second, this time using the privacy-focused technology produced in Apple and Google’s joint project.

Norway is set to become the next country to develop an app for tracing the spread of COVID-19 across the population, one that will use Apple and Google’s contact tracing system. The technology, which is used to keep track of when people get in close proximity to others and whether they are at risk of infection from a carrier, will be at the heart of the new app for Norway, following the country’s troubled first attempt.

Health minister Bent Hoeie advised to Reuters on Monday that the app would use the Apple-Google system, instead of a home-grown version. “This app is purely for tracking infection, it doesn’t store data centrally,” stressed Hoeie.
