NBA 2K21 On PS5 And Xbox Series X Might Be Headed For Generation-Defining Visuals

The closer we get to the unveiling of NBA 2K21 on next-gen, the more excited I am about what’s ahead. The current-gen version has fumbled around a bit, but I have to believe some of the issues are due to 2K dividing its resources with the next-gen iteration.

It seems clear, 2K has gone guns blazing on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions, and let us not forget what they did to set the bar as we moved into the current-gen back in 2013.

This time around, all signs point to 2K doing their best to deliver the kind of visual experience that is unmatched across–at the very least–all of the other titles set to launch in the first week of next-gen availability.

Right now, the single most impressive looking game that I’ve seen on next-gen is Spider-Man: Miles Morales. In case you

Pets linked to maintaining better mental health and reducing loneliness during lockdown, new research shows — ScienceDaily

Sharing a home with a pet appeared to act as a buffer against psychological stress during lockdown, a new survey shows.

Most people who took part in the research perceived their pets to be a source of considerable support during the lockdown period (23 March — 1 June, 2020).

The study — from the University of York and the University of Lincoln — found that having a pet was linked to maintaining better mental health and reducing loneliness. Around 90 per cent of the 6,000 participants who were from the UK had at least one pet. The strength of the human-animal bond did not differ significantly between species with the most common pets being cats and dogs followed by small mammals and fish.

More than 90 per cent of respondents said their pet helped them cope emotionally with the lockdown and 96 per cent said their pet helped keep them

As people stay at home across the world, their latest favorite pastime is a 2018 murder mystery game set in space called Among Us.

The game’s exponential popularity drove its developers to announce on Thursday they were canceling a sequel to the game, to better focus on growing the existing version. The game reached over a million players on September 3 and had grown to over 3.5 million concurrent users worldwide by Friday.

“We canceled the sequel because we saw the opportunity to give back to the players a little bit faster than creating a new, better version,” Forest Willard, a developer at InnerSloth, which makes Among Us, told CNN Business. “It will be more work in the long run, but we’re excited for players to update the game, and suddenly there’s a brand new feature or map that unlocks new experiences.”

The Trump administration has another Chinese technology company on its radar: the Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, the country’s biggest chip maker. And as you all can imagine if you’ve been following the recent news cycle, that is not good for SMIC.

On Friday, the U.S. Department of Commerce informed American companies in the chip industry of new restrictions on exports to SMIC, the Financial Times reported. Now, American companies must obtain licenses from the government in order to sell products, such as software and chip-making equipment, to SMIC.

In a letter communicating the new restrictions to U.S. companies, the Commerce Department said that it had taken action because exports to SMIC posed an “unacceptable risk” of potentially being used for military purposes.

According to U.S. government sources quoted by the Times, the

This year’s monsoon season in Las Vegas? More like a ‘nonsoon’

Monsoon Season Lightning

Sam Morris/Las Vegas News Bureau

A monsoon storm cell emits lightning over the southern part of the Las Vegas valley Friday, July 20, 2018.

The monsoon season — that period from mid-June through September that each year brings rains to the Mojave Desert and other areas of the Southwest from the tropical coast of Mexico — has been a dud this year.

Las Vegas is in the middle of a record-breaking stretch without rain, and residents should be prepared for it to stay that way, scientists say.

Although there have been small pockets of precipitation in the Valley, including a brief sprinkle Monday in parts of Henderson, there has been no rain measured at McCarran International Airport, home of the National Weather Service’s Las Vegas rain gauge, since April 20.

On Sept. 18, that stretch at McCarran hit 150

Syracuse breaks out of rut, defeats Georgia Tech 37-20

“He really did his job,” Syracuse coach Dino Babers said. “He really went after it. We like guys who are hit at the 20 but not tackled until the 25 or 26.”

Jeff Sims completed 13 of 28 passes for 174 yards and one touchdown for the Yellow Jackets but had four interceptions at the hands of the opportunistic defense.

“Big focus all week was on not turning the ball over. Obviously, we didn’t do that,” said Georgia Tech coach Geoff Collins. “Finishing in the red zone, finishing drives, obviously didn’t do that. That’s on me. I’ve go to do a better job getting guys ready. We have to protect the football.”

Jahmyr Gibbs, a freshman playing in just his second game for Tech, had 105 yards, the first 100-yard game of his brief career. Dontae Smith had a career-high 75 yards rushing.

Syracuse had scored 16 points, one touchdown
