This gaming PC with a Ryzen 5 3600 and GTX 1660 is on sale for $550

Budget management is the ultimate buzzkill when shopping for a new PC, though timing is everything, and there are still Prime Day deals to be had. Right now, for example, you can grab what is normally a $900 configuration with a 6-core/12-thread Ryzen 5 3600 CPU and GeForce GTX 1660 GPU for only $549.99. Compared to building your own, the CPU and GPU alone would cost a little over $400.

Granted, this is not a decked out gaming PC, but it is reasonably priced for the hardware. Other components include 8GB of DDR4-3000 memory, a 512GB solid state drive, a 500W power supply, and Windows 10 Home. It also comes with a keyboard and mouse (they’re probably pretty basic, but hey, you could set them aside as backups if nothing else).

I’m not too put off by the RAM, since prices have fallen over the past year. An 8GB module

Build a proper gaming PC for under $900 with these Prime Day deals

Building your own PC from scratch isn’t cheap, but it doesn’t have to be expensive, especially when we’re looking at PC components discounted with Prime Day deals. We’ve put together a gaming PC build that costs less than $900. It’s a capable build too, rocking a quad-core processor and enough graphics performance for solid 1080p and even some 1440p gaming.

While this is a more budget-focused build, there are deals that allow you to put together a more powerful PC for less, but with Black Friday just around the corner, it may be worth holding out on a component or two if you really want a specific part.

Give PC gaming a classic flavour with these retro controller Prime Day Lightning Deals

Nintendo has some of the biggest mascots in videogames, from classics like Mario and The Legend of Zelda’s Link to new ones like the Octolings from Splatoon, but the real characters have always been the company’s signature controllers. As PC gamers, we often forget about controllers unless they’re a flight stick to complete our Star Wars: Squadrons loadouts or fighting sticks to dominate the best fighting games out there, but nostalgia can be a powerful thing.

Whether you switched from consoles and want a blast from the past or simply want the authenticity of retro gaming, you can now get miadore’s N64 controller and iNNEXT’s SNES gamepads cheaper than ever in the UK. Both are USB-based and will work with emulators on various Windows, Raspberry Pis, and even Mac OS X. You don’t even need to bother with downloading a driver, as they’re entirely plug-and-play.

Since these are Lightning Deals,

We’re already seeing deals on games and accessories for the year’s most popular gaming console, the Nintendo Switch. Prime Day 2020 arrives less than a month before the launch of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, so don’t expect many PlayStation 4 and Xbox One deals.

Popular PC gaming companies like Razer, Logitech, and SteelSeries are also known to drop their products to all-time low prices during Prime Day, too, so we’ll be on the lookout for lightning deals and updating

Build a killer gaming PC with these 8 Prime Day deals

Upgrading a PC — especially a gaming PC — is never a cheap endeavour, but Prime Day deals are making it just that much more affordable. Every part should have no issue working together, and really all you’d have to add are a few sweet gaming accessories. Keep in mind, however, that this is a rather high-end PC when put together. You could always nab a few items while they’re on sale and save the rest for the next big sale.
