Dr Ali appointed MD of information technology board – Newspaper

PESHAWAR: The government approved appointment of Dr Sahibzada Ali Mahmood as managing director of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) here on Tuesday.

According to an official statement, the decision was made at the 11th Board of Directors meeting of KPITB chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.

The chief minister said that promotion of information technology and digitisation of services of provincial departments was fundamental part of government’s good governance strategy.

He said that KPITB would be made a strong institution. He said that government made various services of different departments online that would be extended to others for facilitation of people.

The meeting was briefed about the recommendations of search and scrutiny committee with regard to appointment of new managing director of KPITB. Atlanta information-technology company considering High Point for $305 million project | Local

A fast-growing information-technology company from Atlanta is requesting economic incentives from two Triad government groups for a potential $305 million multi-tenant project.

A legal notice placed by Guilford County Board of Commissioners identifies the company as DC Blox, which has four data centers in the Southeast — Atlanta, Birmingham, Ala., Chattanooga, Tenn., and Huntsville, Ala.

The company announced Sept. 9 plans to build a $200-million, 45,000-square-foot facility in Greenville, S.C., where it will have five employees initially.

The discovery of topological Weyl semimetals in 2017 has revealed opportunities to realize several extraordinary physical phenomena in condensed matter physics. Now, researchers at Chalmers University of Technology have demonstrated the direct electrical detection of a large spin Hall effect in this topological quantum material. Weyl semimetal takes advantage of its strong spin-orbit coupling and novel topological spin-polarized electronic states in its band structure. These experimental findings can pave the way for the utilization of spin-orbit induced phenomena in developing next-generation of faster and energy-efficient information technology and have been published in the scientific journal Physical Review Research.
