Here’s everything Apple announced at its iPhone 12 event

Apple made us wait to get a glimpse of its 2020 iPhone lineup, and now it’s easy to see why. All told, it announced four new iPhone models on Tuesday. Add that a more affordable HomePod mini speaker, and it was a jam-packed event.

Apple didn’t lead off with the iPhone 12, but it was probably the device most people tuned in to see. The company’s latest mainstream iPhone improves upon the iPhone 11 in several notable ways. To start, it has a new OLED display with the company’s True Tone tech and a much sharper 2,532 by 1,170 resolution. It also adopts the same flat-edged design as Apple’s recently announced iPad Air. Moreover, it’s thinner and smaller than its predecessor, and if Apple’s claims are accurate, more durable as well. The latter is thanks to a new Ceramic Shield glass layer over the display

Apple’s 2020 iPhone Event Had An Unmistakable Undercurrent That Was All About Accessibility

Apple this morning held its second event in as many months, announcing a new HomePod Mini and a range of new iPhones. The iPhone is undeniably Apple’s crown jewel product, and the new ones look as stellar as ever, while the baby HomePod feels like something Cupertino should’ve launched years ago.

Forget 5G networking. Forget the Pro Max’s LiDAR sensor and fancy camera tricks. Forget the (albeit delightful) new color finishes on both iPhones. Forget HomePod Mini doesn’t (for now?) support Spotify. If you’re someone who cares deeply about accessibility, disabled or not, the high-level take from today’s announcement was unmistakable. Everything Apple announced today has some sort of accessibility story that will define the user experience for legions of buyers with disabilities. It’s yet another lesson that accessible hardware matters just as much as accessible software.

Look no further than the reintroduction of MagSafe to the Apple

During a virtual event Tuesday, Apple announced its lineup of iPhone 12 phones after a month-long postponement due to the coronavirus pandemic. There are four new devices altogether: the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. With the various memory configurations, the phones range from $729 (£699, AU$1,199) to as much as $1,399 (£1,399, AU$2,369) off-contract, but all models have 5G connectivity, the A14 Bionic chip and multiple rear cameras.

Because of these latest devices, Apple reduced the prices of its older iPhone models that it still sells new. This includes the iPhone 11 from last year and the iPhone XR from 2018. The iPhone SE, which the company

This year, Apple introduced four iPhones, ranging from the iPhone 12 Mini to the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Apple’s iPhone 12 family hits the market at an extraordinary time — with the coronavirus pandemic leaving tens of millions of people out of jobs and kicking off a recession that has thrown everything into a state of uncertainty. The new phones feature a boxier look, a magnetic attachment called MagSafe and, yes, super-fast 5G, but the price tag of these typically premium gadgets may be more important than ever.

Rivals have already responded to the economic and health crisis. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S20 FE, a budget phone with high-end specs wrapped in a plastic housing that helps push its price down to $700 from the $1,000 price tag for its

Apple Ending Key Source of iPhone E-Waste: Headphones, Chargers

It’s Apple Day, and for once, I don’t have to take on the usual role of climate journalists completely raining on the parade of people hypebeasting the new iPhone.

I mean, look, of course you should run your old iPhone into the ground instead of buying a new one if you value a habitable planet and not foisting your conspicuous consumption habits onto the backs of poor communities tasked with mining the metals and constructing a new phone you don’t need while dealing with the waste created by you getting rid of your old but perfectly good phone, you monstrous bastard. But if you actually need a new phone and order the iPhone 12, you’ll be getting a lighter ethical load than usual.

The company announced it will no longer ship iPhones with headphones or wall chargers. To which I say, thank the lord. This is like the lowest of

Apple iPhone 12 Pro And iPhone 12 Pro Max Are Resetting The Benchmark For Smartphone Cameras

The Apple iPhone line-up for 2020 line-up brings four iPhones to the table, but what doesn’t change at all is the fact that the Pro devices, the Apple iPhone 12 Pro and the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max are really resetting the benchmark in terms of photography performance. It was perhaps to be expected, but what has finally been unveiled is in all likelihood more than what anyone of us may have imagined. And that’s just one aspect, because across the board, the Apple iPhone 12 Pro line is a serious upgrade over the iPhone 11 Pro series. Incidentally, the pricing of the Apple iPhone 12 Pro and the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max remains the same as last year. The Apple iPhone 12 Pro prices start Rs 1,19,900 while

League Of Legends: Wild Rift Releases For iOS This Year, Uses iPhone 12 A14 Chip And 5G

Riot Games appeared on stage during Apple’s iPhone 12 event to announce that League of Legends: Wild Rift will arrive on iPhone devices later this year. The mobile adaptation of the wildly popular MOBA League of Legends comes at a time when another hit multiplayer game–Fortnite–remains unavailable on iOS devices.

An official release date for League of Legends: Wild Rift was not confirmed; we just know it will release sometime in 2020. The announcement was made while Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 12, the company’s latest flagship phone. The exact phones that support Wild Rift were not shared, but we do know it’ll take advantage of the iPhone 12’s new A14 Bionic chip and 5G functionality. How exactly it will utilize the new chip was not shared in great detail, but Riot touted the “fast speeds” that the new line of iPhones will allow for when playing Wild Rift.
