Apple

As a professional photographer, I’ve been blown away by how the iPhone 11 Pro has been able to replace my DSLR on photo shoots. But Apple just introduced the iPhone 12 lineup, which includes the iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the camera tech is even better this time around. (Here’s everything Apple announced at the October event.) The iPhone 12 Pro Max’s camera updates especially, both in hardware and software, have already got me buzzing about going shooting with this thing. Here’s why I’m so excited.

More zoom with the 2.5x telephoto lens

I love the telephoto zoom lens on the iPhone 11 Pro, but at only 2x, it doesn’t always provide quite the level of zoom I want. I often find myself digitally zooming in further to get the exact composition I want. The iPhone

Apple is gunning hard for photo and video enthusiasts with its iPhone 12 Pro models, bringing major updates to camera hardware and computational photography software.

Among the changes in the iPhone Pro models are a larger sensor for better low-light performance, new abilities to fuse multiple frames into one shot, better stabilization to counteract your shaky hands and a new lidar sensor for improved autofocus. And on the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the telephoto camera can zoom in better on distant subjects.

The iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max debuted at Apple’s iPhone 12 launch event Tuesday. The iPhone 12 (from $799, £799, AU$1,349) and 12

What Will Apple Announce At Tuesday’s Massive Launch Event? Predictions On The New iPhone 12 And iPhone 12 Pro

This year’s major iPhone event is like no other. Like pretty much event manufacturer, it has moved to a virtual launch. The extensive virtual Worldwide Developer Conference has given Tim Cook’s Apple experience in this style of event, but the iPhone 12 family is the keystone product launch of the year. Without a hand-picked adoring crowd to cover the stage, will the missing features of the iPhone 12 stand out?

Since the launch of the iPhone 11 family, the Android-powered competition has pushed ahead with innovative features such as fast refreshing screens, 5G connectivity, and fast charging. What can the new iPhones deliver to match this challenge? And will Apple’s second-line products help deliver success?

If you want a checklist to follow, I’d expect Apple to lean into a triplet of messages… these will be the fastest iPhones ever; these will be the iPhones with the longest battery

Apple AirPods Pro spatial audio: What it is and how to use it

  • Apple’s iOS 14 update brings a new feature called spatial audio to the AirPods Pro.
  • Spatial audio gives the AirPods Pro a surround sound effect, making audio feel more open and immersive.
  • The AirPods Pro can track your head movements, making it possible to adjust the audio accordingly as you move.
  • It’s available on iPhone 7 or later and on certain iPad models.
  • Visit Business Insider’s homepage for more stories.

Apple’s iOS 14 update didn’t just bring improvements to the iPhone — it’s introduced a couple of new features for AirPods as well.

Apple’s Biggest Challenge Hides Inside Revolutionary MacBook Pro

Apple’s radical update to the macOS platform will have to wait before it can take to the stage. Although Tim Cook and his team will take to the virtual stage this week, the focus will be on the iPhone finally shipping with 5G. The revolutionary MacBooks will have to wait for their moment in that spotlight… a spotlight that will ask how Tim Cook is going to solve the biggest problem facing macOS over the next few years.

This problem arises from Tim Cook’s decision to move the entire macOS platform to Apple’s own chip designed based around ARM. The presumptive MacBook and MacBook Pro releases following this decision, expected to be on sale before the end of 2020, will set the tone for the transition’s success. I’ll be carefully watching how Apple addresses the biggest issue of app compatibility both during the presentation during the launch event and beyond

Best Prime Day 2020 Apple deals so far: Save $50 on AirPods Pro and $30 on new iPad

This story is part of Amazon Prime Day, CNET’s guide on everything you need to know and how to make sure you get the best deal.

Prime Day, which kicks off on Tuesday, may bring some of the best deals of the year on a range of Apple products. At the same time, Apple will also be holding a virtual event at which it’s expected to unveil the iPhone 12 (and possibly other new products). We’ll be covering both events in detail here at CNET, of course.

As to Prime Day: If last year’s event provides any guidance for what to expect in 2020, we could see the brand-new 10.2-inch iPad dip to $250 (and last year’s model sell for even less), the MacBook Air on sale for less than $900, new all-time low
