Suga’s Daily Schedule May Carry Key Insights for Stock Investors

(Bloomberg) — It goes without saying that investors in Japan should watch what the Prime Minister is doing. But with Yoshihide Suga now in power, it pays to follow a little more closely.

Shares in GMO Internet Inc., a tech conglomerate, jumped as much as 5.5% on Thursday after founder and CEO Masatoshi Kumagai tweeted that he’d had dinner with Suga to discuss the prime minister’s digital reforms. Some of the GMO group’s other listed units surged by their daily limit, in expectation of its involvement in the shift to digital.

NASA safety panel raises doubts about Starliner test flight schedule

WASHINGTON — A NASA safety panel said that while Boeing was making good progress on implementing changes to its CST-100 Starliner commercial crew vehicle, it had doubts that work could be done in time to allow another test flight this year.

At an Oct. 1 meeting of the Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel, committee member Donald McErlean said Boeing was making “substantial progress” on preparations for Orbital Flight Test (OFT) 2, a second uncrewed test flight that the company said earlier this year it would fly after the original OFT mission last December suffered a series of problems.

He said the Starliner crew module that will fly the OFT-2 mission is about 80% complete and its service module 90% complete. Other components for the mission, including its Atlas 5 launch vehicle and a spacecraft adaptor, have either been delivered or are being completed.

NASA and Boeing announced Aug. 28 that the

The latest on UGA football and basketball games with Georgia Tech and other schedule updates – Sports – Savannah Morning News

ATHENS — Georgia’s football game with Georgia Tech in 2021 will remain as scheduled to be held in Atlanta even with the teams not playing in Athens this year, Bulldogs athletic director Greg McGarity said.

The in-state rivals will not go up against each other this season for the first time since 1924 after the SEC decided to play a conference-only schedule due to the pandemic. The ACC allowed for one nonconference game played in the school’s home state.

“I think if the shoe were on the other foot, it’s not that you push the game back a year, but it would take both schools to agree to do that and obviously Tech has no interest in doing that,” McGarity said. “We’ll just basically be in Atlanta in 2021. It’s unfortunate but it’s just where things stand.”
