UNGA president demands re-adherence to equal access to technology

(MENAFN) In a way to support member states building back more effectively in the period of post coronavirus recovery, Volkan Bozkir, president of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), demanded this Friday a re-adherence to equal access to technology.

“We need to recommit to equal access to technology. This is particularly crucial for SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) 4: on Quality Education,” stated the president of the UNGA as he was communicating with the Second Committee of the UNGA.

“We must consider the potential of technology as an equalizing force,” the president affirmed.

“As it stands, the digital divide in urban and rural areas, and between developed and developing countries, continues to exacerbate inequalities,” he added.

Volkan Bozkir stated that, affairs like trade, debt, information technology and inclusion all have further meaning and earnestness within the context of the pandemic for the 75th session of the UNGA.
